Discipleship Foundations Parts 5 & 6

Part 5: Formational Pillars 5–8

5. Peak Experiences: Use impactful events (camps, retreats, missions) to create lasting “mountaintop” faith memories.

6. Rites of Passage: Intentionally mark key life transitions with spiritual community, blessing, and new responsibilities.

7. Positive Peer Community: Surround young people with peers whose faith values elevate their own.

8. Mentoring & Coaching: Connect each youth with multiple non-parent adult mentors (such as grandparents) who walk through life’s hard questions with them.

Part 6: Relationships, Time, & Multiplication

The Holy Spirit & Relationships: The Holy Spirit brings transformation, but humanly, all ten pillars rely entirely on relationships—which demand prioritized time.

Breaking “QWERTY” Thinking: Like typewriter keyboards designed for outdated problems, churches must stop relying on outdated discipling structures.

Geometric Multiplication: Stadium evangelism takes centuries to reach the world, but personal relational multiplication (1 discipling 1 each year) theoretically reaches the whole world in roughly 32 years.
